Jesus and... Purpose

Many people seem to spend their time attempting to discover God’s will for their lives. My students, for instance, often express their frustration because they don’t know God’s will.

My answer to them is simple. God’s will is described in the Lord’s prayer: “…Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:10).

God’s heart is to bring everything on earth (including everything in my life and yours) under the rulership of Christ.

To bring that purpose to pass, Jesus Christ came to earth as King and established His kingdom. Now it’s our purpose, as disciples of Christ, to live and declare the kingdom of heaven on earth.

David the king, a forerunner of Christ, served the purposes of God in his generation, and now it’s our turn, as followers of Christ, to serve the purposes of God in our own.

In my new book ‘Jesus and…’ - ‘How God works through ordinary people’ (which I am promoting here, and which, of course, I would like you to buy, as soon as it’s available), I give examples of how God chooses and uses people, like you and me, to fulfill His purpose.

They are unlikely partnerships to fulfill a profound purpose.

Are you living under the rulership of Christ?

Are you proclaiming the King and His kingdom?

Are you fulfilling your purpose by serving His?
